Publish Kids does not collect personal information about its submitters.

As optional fields on our Submit Work form, we collect the location and age, of our submitters. We also collect a "codename." The aforementioned information is collected directly through the Submit Work form. Any of the above information a submitter chooses to complete on the Submit Work form will be listed on an HTML page along with the submitter's writing. Publish Kids is not responsible for any information placed within the content of the writing itself, though every effort is made to ensure that the writing does not contain information that could compromise a submitter's identity or security.

We do not disclose the information we collect to any third party except as noted above, when using the information in the context of a creative work being displayed on the Publish Kids web site.

The parent(s) of the submitter have the option, at any point in time, to request the removal of his or her child's writing provided that he or she can provide proof of parentage to the submitter. The said parent(s) also has/have the option to agree to the collection and use of the child's information without consenting to the disclosure of the information to third parties.

A note about the Children's Online Privacy Act of 1998 (COPPA):
Because we do not collect personal information that could be used to individually identify a submitter, Publish Kids is not legally bound by the 1998 COPPA legislation. However, Publish Kids supports the spirit of the legislation. Thus, in accordance with COPPA, we will not require minor submitters to disclose more information than is necessary for normal activity on the site. Publish Kids also makes every effort to ensure that submitters make good individual security choices when submitting poems and stories. For more information about COPPA, click here.
